elephant’s breakdown cover is supplied by Call Assist Limited (Axis Court, North Station Road, Colchester, CO1 1UX) who are authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority. The product is underwritten by Groupama Insurance Company Limited (Groupama House, 24-26 Minories, London, EC3N 1DE) who are authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Commission.

How it works

Once you’ve added elephant Breakdown Cover to your policy it couldn’t be easier.

You'll receive details of your elephant Breakdown Cover along with a card with our freephone breakdown assistance number.

As soon as you receive the card write your registration number and car insurance policy number on the back of the card, as you'll need this information when you call us.

When you call us, in addition to your registration number and insurance policy number we'll need you to tell us the make, model and type of your car. We'll also need to know your where your location is so we can find you as quickly as possible and your phone number so we can call you back to keep you informed.

The operator will call you back to tell you which assistant will be attending and how long they will be.

Q. How can I add elephant's Breakdown Cover to my policy?
A. It really couldn't be easier - just call Customer Services on 0871 882 2233.

Q. Can you pass on messages?
A. You don't have to worry if your breakdown has made you late for a meeting at work or if your family are expecting you at home - we're always happy to pass on a message for you!

Q. Does my membership cover me or my car?
A. Cover is provided for the car shown on your policy schedule, whilst being driven by any of the drivers named on your policy schedule.

Q. Am I covered if my car breaks down at home?
A. If you have National Plus or European Plus breakdown cover we will help you if your car won't start for you at home.

Q. What happens if I lose my keys?
A. If you lose or break your keys give us a call and we'll be happy to help you.
