Most insurance companies offer lower premiums to couples as
they are deemed to be a lower risk than single people, but
this usually only applies to married couples. elephant.co.uk
makes no distinction between married and unmarried couples,
as long they are co-habiting, they receive the benefit of cheaper
insurance.
For example, a co-habiting couple aged 27 living in London
would pay £292 a year for comprehensive insurance of
a Ford Focus instead of £341. A saving of £49.

have always prided ourselves on being an open minded company,
and we could see no logical reason why unmarried couples could
not be treated the same as married ones. We hope by promoting
this fact more unmarried and same-sex couples will benefit
from more affordable car insurance."
elephant.co.uk has always taken an alternative approach to
car insurance. It was the UK's first wholly on-line car insurance provider.
It also targets drivers other insurance companies shun, such
as younger drivers and those living in cities.
