Not long after a Chinese supermarket chain introduced female-only car parking spaces, it seems that it may not be women that need help - at least, if one accident is anything to go by.
A hapless male driver was lucky to walk away from the reversing accident that left his car propped on its rear end, 21 feet below the space he had been edging into.
The plunge apparently happened when the un-named driver mixed up the automatic's accelerator and brake pedals, launching the car - with him and his five-year-old son inside - through a fence and down into the alleyway below.
While the man and his son emerged unscathed, the car was, unsurprisingly, left smashed by the precipitous drop - having to be removed by crane.
It's not the first time that confusion over a car's controls has resulted in a dramatic incident, however.
Last summer, an 83-year-old lady caused mayhem after a pedal slip-up saw her Mazda 'fly' straight into a Hampshire florist shop.
Meanwhile, a "gearbox error" last week saw a Devon pensioner plough through her garage wall and into a stream.
