With parts of the UK hit by heavy snow, many people have seen their travel plans buried under a blanket of the white stuff.
But while many schoolchildren and commuters woke up to the beginning of a long weekend, Davina McCall had been suffering overnight - and keeping the world up to date with her progress on micro-blogging platform Twitter.
The Big Brother presenter put in an eight hour-plus shift, stuck in traffic on the A21 near Tunbridge Wells in badly-affected Kent, after a lorry jack-knifed.
After initially getting stuck in snowbound traffic around 11pm, Davina was able to give her followers a blow-by-blow account of her trepidation as she reconciled herself with bedding down for the night in her car.
Early on, the presenter seemed jubilant, singing the praises of husband Matthew Robertson when she heard her "knight in shining armour" was coming to rescue her. However, very quickly her elation turned to despair, as she realised he would have a hard time getting to her.
During her dark night of the soul, Davina mused that she felt like a character in planes, trains and automobiles, and drew strength from celebrity mates and fellow Twitter users Andi Peters and Phillip Schofield.
She even dished out travel advice to early risers, telling 'everyone': "If it's really snowing don't leave the house!!! Stay home x x".
And after a kip, and some general bonhomie with some stragglers to whom she offered a seat in her car, Davina was finally rescued by her husband at around 7.30am.
Her final tweet of the odyssey gave thanks to all the people who helped pull her through.
"Everyone.......we're HOME!!! thank you for keeping me company xx x"
