The M6's so-called Spaghetti Junction is Britain's most intimidating road intersection, according to a new poll.
And another two Brum junctions - the M5/M6 intersection and Five Ways - join Gravelly Hill interchange in the list of 10 junctions most dreaded by motorists.
But while the M8's junctions in central Glasgow - voted second most scary - bring the number of motorway sites on the list to three, it seems that urban interchanges are the stuff of most motorists' nightmares.
One in seven of the 3,225 drivers polled on behalf of Britannia Rescue even said that they avoided driving in towns and cities altogether.
Few people who've driven in London would be surprised to see Marble Arch (3rd) or the Hangar Lane Gyratory (5th) making the top 10, while neon-lit Picadilly Circus places seventh.
Swindon and Hemel Hempstead both make the top 10 with their famed 'Magic Roundabouts' - each a collection of several mini roundabouts arranged in a circle - although only Swindon has officially recognised the popular nickname.
And it seems drivers' fears might not be without foundation - the breakdown firm highlighted Department for Transport accident statistics, which show that almost 59% of crashes last year happened at junctions.
Stephen Mead, assistant chief examiner at the Institute of Advanced Motorists, told elephant.co.uk news that "without a shadow of a doubt" there are tricky junctions around the country, though some drivers may just prefer to stay in their comfort zone.
"People probably get used to the environment they are in and they can become uncertain drivers because of that as well," he added.
