We're all familiar with celebrities naming their offspring after romantic-sounding cities, but one Poole couple are bringing car makes into the mix.
Mum Samantha Smyth and dad Tony Richardson eschewed run-of-the-mill celeb names such as Brooklyn, Paris, or Dallas, and decided to name their new baby Kia - after the Carens people carrier where she was born.
According to the Bournemouth Daily Echo, the tot was born on the back seat of the car billed by its makers as "practical and stylish" - though Kia's other description of "ready for anything" could be more apt.
After phoning for support when it looked like Samantha was going into labour, she and Tony were picked up by her mother in the Carens, and the couple made their way to the maternity unit.
However, as the car pulled up at Poole Hospital the child - who was initially going to be called Tilley - was born there and then in the back of the seven-seater.
Despite arriving two weeks early, Kia weighed a healthy six pounds and seven ounces, and is said to be doing well.
But the situation could have turned out rather differently, as one person noted in a comment on the Daily Echo website.
"Good job they didn't own a Mazda Bongo or Skoda Yeti!" Derf from Wallisdown pointed out.
