Piloting a sports car through a deserted 31-mile-long tunnel doesn't necessarily take the skill of a racing driver.
But for former Formula One and motorcycle world champion John Surtees, who has become the first person to drive a high performance car the full length of the Channel Tunnel, the trick was in keeping himself to a strict 50kph (31mph) limit.
The 75-year-old was behind the wheel of a British-made Ginetta GV50EV electric prototype, for a crossing through the structure's service tunnel - which was opened up to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Eurotunnel.
And despite the low speeds involved, navigating the vast tunnel was still a test of nerve.
"You certainly wouldn't want to be subject to any claustrophobic feelings down there," Surtees said.
"The tunnel is very small in parts but it's amazing what a tremendous engineering feat it is.
"It's quite staggering."
But for the racing legend, who won several motorcycle world championships in the 1950s before switching to four wheels - the only man to conquer both sports - the jaunt was not just about setting a quirky Chunnel first.
In addition to raising money for the Richard Burns Foundation as part of the Burlington Beaujolais Run, the racing legend used the event to pay tribute to his 18-year-old son Henry who died in a race accident in July.
