A young US driver who dressed up as a breathalyser for Halloween found himself blowing into the real thing, after police suspected him of drink-driving.
Twenty-year-old Cincinnati man James Miller was allegedly driving the wrong way down a one-way street without headlights, when he was picked up by officers from the Oxford Police Department in Ohio.
According to the Drayton Daily News, officers found Miller guzzling chewing gum as they approached his car.
Despite telling them he had not touched a drop of alcohol, police found an open beer in the car's central console next to Miller, along with a partially empty case of beer on the front seat and more alcohol in the boot.
In addition, police said that Miller was in possession of several Ohio driving licences.
After being taken to the police station he was forced to use the real thing. And the reading - which showed almost twice the legal alcohol limit - was apparently somewhat different to the three settings featured on Miller's costume: 'boring', 'life of the party', or 'sotally tober'.
He was charged with a variety of offences including underage possession of alcohol - the legal drinking age in Ohio is currently 21, having been raised from 18 in 1992.
And although this last clearly doesn't go down well with some of the state's youth, an online petition to change the law back has attracted only 227 signatures - since March 2007.
