A motorist in the remote Highlands of Scotland survived a 120ft cliff plunge with little more than a cut head.
Retired car designer Angus MacLeod may be able to put his survival down to the stout Land Rover Discovery he was driving as he first rolled down an 80ft slope, before sailing off the 120ft cliff edge.
And the 60-year-old had even previously worked for the 4x4 firm, before retiring 18 months ago to the house where he had been brought up.
The drama unfolded close to Durness on the northern edge of Scotland, as the car left the road on a bend and careered off the cliff, before landing on the sandy beach below.
His partner Cheryl Roberts said she had been watching the excitement as the coastguard helicopter arrived and police, firefighters and paramedics massed - but had no idea they were arriving to help Angus.
She referred to him as the safest driver she knew, who was "fanatical" about wearing his seatbelt.
"When he went over he was at the highest point near the beach," Ms Roberts added.
"It is lucky there were no people on the beach where he went over."
