A driver walked away almost unscathed from a nightmare 60ft plunge down a steep back garden, which left her car in the back of a newly-occupied Bristol house.
Mum Amy Hatcher emerged from her BMW after ploughing through a 5ft breeze block wall and down the slope. Her arrival sent pieces of car and masonry flying across neighbouring patios in Queensdown Gardens, Brislington, and narrowly missed the home's patio doors.
Resident Vicky Avery had been in her new house for less than 24 hours and was having a cable connection installed by an engineer when she received the unexpected visit.
"We heard an almighty bang and saw the car bouncing towards us," Vicky told the Bristol Evening Post.
"I didn't know if the car was going to smash through the patio door or through the house."
She describes grabbing the cable engineer, and running out of the room.
Luckily driver Amy wasn't badly injured in the crash, and was left with only bruises and whiplash.
"It could have been fatal," Vicky said.
"The only reason I didn't have the patio doors open was because I had only just found the key to open them."
