A teenage driver was hit with a speeding fine after being flashed by a camera - despite her car being parked in a bay outside her house at the time.
Worse still, 19-year-old Emily Davies says she was soundly tucked up in bed when she was accused of driving at 37mph in the 30mph zone outside her home.
The clinical receptionist from Old Swan, Liverpool, knew it could not be correct - she says she is a careful driver who never speeds, and was praised as a 'star pupil' after passing her driving test with just one minor fault.
And besides, Ms Davies goes to bed at 10pm - the camera 'snapped her' at 10.22pm.
So she disputed the £60 ticket with police, but says she was told that "mistakes are never made".
"That's just not true," she told the Daily Mail.
"If this has happened to me, it must be happening to other people.
"It's a waste of time and money and things should be changed."
A spokesperson for the Merseyside Road Safety Camera Partnership apologised on behalf of Merseyside Police.
They confirmed that the fine would be cancelled and that Ms Davies will receive a letter of apology.
