Cleaners are used to finding items that people have lost.
But council workers in Slough were surprised to find one garden that was so overgrown it had swallowed up an entire Ford Escort.
The garden in question belonged to Annis Dodds, who was last week handed a £500 fine - plus £1,000 costs - for failing to clear her garden.
The Slough Observer reports that the council had served notice on Mrs Dodds after neighbours complained of a rat infestation.
But it ended up falling to the council to clear up the site, at which point they found the car, among various household items, hidden in the foliage.
"We were astonished at the amount of vegetation, but even more so to find an old car rusting away in the undergrowth," said Sarah Hines-Randall, who led the council's clear-up team.
The Daily Telegraph reported that Mrs Dodds was unavailable for comment.
