Eagle-eyed drivers who spot a speed camera will be able to tip-off fellow road-users by using a new in-car gadget.
Called the Mini Coyote, the dashboard-mounted unit lets drivers sound a warning to those nearby, who'll receive the alert in around three seconds.
While other gadgets can already alert drivers according to a database of known speed traps, the Coyote can provide up-to-date information and adjust to mobile camera units - provided users spot them and alert others.
The device has drawn criticism from Robert Gifford, director of the Parliamentary Advisory Council for Transport Safety, who said drivers using the devices to warn others could be perverting the course of justice.
But AA president Edmund King has commented that it would be difficult to prosecute anyone.
Meanwhile Novus, the company behind the product, claims it's a "road-safety" device that will stop drivers slamming on their brakes when they see a camera.
The £199 unit will be available from next week.
