We think it's only fair you should be rewarded for driving carefully. So if you don't make a claim on your elephant insurance after a year, the next year you'll be an entitled to a No Claims Bonus.
How does it work?
Your bonus gives you a certain percentage off the price you pay when you renew with us. The actual percentage varies, but it's well worth having.
The longer you drive without making a claim, the bigger your bonus gets. After five years, it could be as much as 40%.
I already have a bonus. Can I use it with you?
Yes! If you're moving to elephant from another insurer (clever you), you can use your existing No Claims Bonus to save you money. You just need to send us your old insurer's renewal notice, which will show us your bonus.
What if I have to make a claim?
Your No Claims Bonus might still be OK. We don't touch your bonus if you've claimed for windscreen damage, emergency treatment fees or if the claim wasn't your fault, and we've recovered all our money from the other person's insurer.
If you've been insured with us and building up your No Claims Bonus for four years or longer, you can still make a claim and keep at least part of your bonus. Your car policy details will tell you more.
So a No Claims Bonus is worth looking after?
Definitely. That's why we offer to protect or guarantee your No Claims Bonus for a small extra payment.
After you've been with us for four years without a claim, you can opt for a guaranteed or protected No Claims Bonus. You can keep your bonus even if you have to make a claim.
With a guaranteed No Claims Bonus, you can make unlimited claims without losing any of your bonus.
With a protected No Claims Bonus, you can claim twice in three years without losing any of your bonus. See your car policy details for more information.
Someone else drives my car. Can they earn a No Claims Bonus too?
Yes! If they're a named driver on your policy, they can build up their No Claims Bonus, ready for when they take out their own elephant car insurance.
It's very handy if you have a son, daughter or partner who'll want their own car in the future.
I have two cars. Can I use my No Claims Bonus on both policies?
