Is the colour of the car you drive written in the stars?

Does your star sign influence your choice of car colour? Online car insurer, elephant.co.uk thinks it could. It has looked at the cars driven by a quarter of a million motorists and found some definite trends when it comes to the star signs of those motorists and the colour of the car they choose to drive.

For instance, serious Capricorn motorists like black and red cars, but they steer clear of white or grey ones. Homely Cancerians favour silver cars more than any other star sign, but are most turned off by blue. While saintly Virgoans prefer solid brown, but don't like black or silver cars.

elephant.co.uk looked at the correlation between star signs and car colours just for fun, but were surprised at some of the results they found. Managing director, Tanzie Oliver, said: "I am a bit sceptical about astrology, I'm not sure that the time of year someone is born can affect their personality. But our research suggests perhaps it does affect the colour of the car you drive, maybe subliminally."

Other discoveries by elephant.co.uk include that Aquarians like blue, but don't like red cars. White cars are the choice of Taureans, they don't like brown. And Librans are the harlequins of the Zodiac, favouring Yellow, Silver, Brown and Grey, but shunning white.

Tanzie Oliver, said, "People born under Capricorn are supposed to be intellectual, maybe they choose traditionally racy colours to make themselves seem more interesting. Librans are supposed to have good taste, but I'm not sure this could be said for choosing a yellow or a brown car. But perhaps Aquarians choose blue because it is supposed to encourage clear thought, and they are the thinkers of the Zodiac.
