If you want to grab the attention of the guy or girl you have your eye on, you should consider what car you drive. A new survey from online car insurance specialist, elephant.co.uk, shows almost one third of drivers find someone more attractive because of their car.
elephant.co.uk found the best car to attract someone is a sports car. The most alluring car was a black Aston Martin. However, if you want to dampen someone’s ardour, you should be driving a brown Rolls Royce. British motorists voted this their least stimulating car.
Women are 12% more likely than men to find someone more attractive because of their car. However, over one third of women and two thirds of men said that it is the person they are attracted to, not the car.
The top two attention grabbing cars for men and women are the Aston Martin, followed by Ferrari. The cars that most separated the genders were the Audi and Maserati. Women are four times more likely than men to be attracted by someone driving an Audi, whereas men are three times more likely than women to be attracted to someone driving a Maserati.
Neither gender would be overly impressed by a car with lots of modifications and extras. In fact, 7 out of 10 drivers would be put off if someone owned a car like this.
Four in ten motorists also said that they would use someone’s car as a talking point or way to break the ice.
Managing Director of elephant.co.uk, Ceri Assiratti, said: “The combination of classic good looks and high performance means the Aston Martin has established itself as the car most people would be attracted to. If it’s good enough for James Bond, it’s certainly good enough for me!”
